Getting Started with DiskDog

Install DiskDog, learn the interface, and run your first scan in minutes.

DiskDog is a cross-platform file manager built with Rust + Tauri. It bundles nine modules — file organizing, disk info, cleanup, similar/duplicate finding, encryption, virtual folders, a rule engine, and a quick launcher — into one fast, native app.

Install

  1. 1Download the Windows installer from the Download section on the home page. (macOS and Linux are coming soon.)
  2. 2Run the installer and launch DiskDog. No account is required to start.
  3. 3On first launch you are in a 30-day trial. Each module allows up to 5 items during the trial.
The sidebar on the left switches between modules; the main panel shows the active module.

Activate a license

  1. 1Open Settings → About and copy your Device ID if asked during purchase.
  2. 2Paste your license key into Settings → About → License and click Activate.
  3. 3First-time activation needs a network connection; afterwards the app verifies offline.

A license is bound to your device. To move it to another machine, deactivate it first in Settings.

Recommended first steps

  • Set a theme and accent color in Settings → Appearance.
  • Turn on "Delete to Recycle Bin" in Settings → System so deletions are recoverable (on by default).
  • Try the File Organizer on your Downloads folder — scan first, review the preview, then execute.
